Allergy Update
Yesterday we got the results from Jon’s allergy testing. But first let me tell you the story of getting blood drawn.
We had to go to a different office to have the blood drawn and even though we were talking about it in front of him he had no idea what was going to happen. So we drive to the lab, check in and he is just as cheerful as can be. They call us back and he is charming the nurses and having a ball. He hops up in the chair and the nurse asks me if he is OK in that chair all alone, I told her I would let her know in about two minutes.
So they tell him they are going to rub some stuff to numb his arm so he doesn’t feel it and he is still clueless as to what is about to happen. When she gets ready I look at him and tell him the secret is not to watch but rather to look at the cool thing I can do with my hand. Of course he looks, the nurse does her thing and Jon shouts, “Ouch that really hurts”. Then he looks at the needle in his arm and was no longer impressed with the whole situation. By the time he could shed his second tear I had the gummy bears out, the nurse was done and had a sticker basket in front of him.
On to the results. Jon is allergic to pistachios and cashews. Not peanuts (which we knew), walnuts or almonds. Which means he won’t have to sit at the peanut table in elementary school. We also realized that because it is a “peanut” table someone could bring almond or cashew butter and sit at that table, kinda defeats the purpose.

Poor Jon sounds pretty traumatic. Tell him there’s a feel better present on the way. Love you all
