An Adventure
On Wednesday, the kids and I decided to go on an adventure to Shawnee Mission Park. We stopped and had snack at the edge of the lake (after walking through a field that I'm sure was loaded with bugs!) It then rained on us before we could finish our snack (Jon was NOT amused). So we moved on to a park area where it wasn't raining and finished our snack. Then we went on a "nature" walk (read: more bugs) and found a stream and walked on wet, slimy, smelly rocks. Loads of fun. After all the excitement we were about to leave when we found a dock to run out on and get REALLY close to the edge. Thankfully, Jon decided not to jump because there was a bunch of people from a retirement home there and they were all having snack and invited us to join them. The kids had fun eating rice krispie treats and entertaining their elders. Enjoy the pics!

4th Of July Parade
What we don't do for our kids...Our subdivision had it's annual 4th of July parade on Saturday and I got the kids ready. Here they are sporting their firecracker hats, home-made flags and shakers. Really.

And The Parade Finale
My two sparklers are in the red wagon.

Really.

All Right!
Dick & Dianne got first post and didn't even realize it! Great pics, Jen. Wish I was there! Looks like you had a lot of fun. Okay, I know it was a lot of work getting them decked out, but it was worth it--they looked so cute!
Thank you again for keeping us so up to date. Darn, but you are on top of it this week! I've missed several of your phone calls, and will probably miss more--but I really am here to support you!
Love you all lots

The kids looked so cute going to the park, sounds like fun. Jon looks quite amused by the elderly people he was visiting with. And their 4th of July stuff is adorable. Looks like they had fun in their parade. Too cute, thanks for keeping us updated, it makes my day!
