Uneventful Week
Mama spent this week recovering still. We all got a little stir crazy by Thursday so we ventured out to PAT Playgroup. I had lots of fun being passed around and Lily looked like she was having fun with all the toys and the other kids. Our friends, Colin and Grace joined us since their Mom, Maggie, is on maternity leave.
On the weekend we all hung out at the house and tried to figure out how to get me to sleep. Apparently everyone around here goes to sleep without being rocked and swaddled and listening to music and being rocked a bit more... I heard them talking and they say I'll eventually learn but I think I'm driving them crazy. I eat well, though; doesn't that count for something? On to pictures!

Beans & Bells
Lily and her silly hats...where does Mama find this stuff? Lily loves to play with her box of beans...I can't wait until I'm older!

Sleeping On My Perch
Look at how cute I am in those jeans! Can a guy say that?

Down With The Red Fox
Thank goodness they didn't name me Russell (it means Red Fox). They were seriously considering it so they bought me this little rattle (similar to Lily's Suzy). I showed them...Mama found me this way during one of my naps in my papasan.

Too Close Mama, Too Close
I know I didn't have a lot of hair to begin with, but it's all falling out. As you can see in this picture, I have some very light peach fuzz growing in...I guess we'll just have to wait and see what color it will be!

Shouldn't the last picture be titled "Daddy doodie"?! Enjoyed it, thanks.

lkjvoiu glkjaiu kjf (in Bailey's world that means, "can I please come over and play princess with you Lily?") Thanks for sharing your website with us....your kiddos are just too cute!

Hi Jonathan!
Your Mom's doing a good job keeping up the website. As for the last picture, I wonder if it should be titled, I've gotten so good at this, I can do it with my eyes closed---or---I'm so tired I'm sure I can do this in my sleep. Another great update. I'm glad that your Mom is doing better, she's much too nice to be sick. I hope you sleep as well tonight as you did last night. Mommy and Daddy need some rest!
Love you all!

Hi Jon,
I sure miss you and Lily so much! (Mom and dad too). You seem to really like your red fox (maybe?) Hope you are being good for mom and dad, sleeping a lot during the night! I love all Lily's hats, and the beans looks like it must be a new activity since I was there. Looks like fun though! And Lily looks great with her Princess accessories! And you on your perch, what a big boy. Well miss you all sooooooo much.

Missing Out
Do you have to have a gallbladder removed to get some space on this blog??? Sheesh, I haven't posted in over a month!!
Mama is doing well. The surgery went fine. Aunt Bev rocks! She's been taking care of me, Jon and Mama. (Daddy, too. He had a bad cold the whole time.) Thank you so much for everything Auntie Beveee!! We really enjoyed having you and can't thank you enough.
Aunt Bev and Mama managed to take some pictures of us. Aunt Bev is a WIZ in photoshop...she had lots of fun, but still prefers to take pictures of dogs (her specialty.)

That's A Good Boy
Mama and Aunt Bev took a lot of pictures together so some of them might be Aunt Bev's and some Mama's...it's hard to tell, but this one is definitely one that Aunt Bev took. Mama was so proud of her for getting a close-up!

Aunt Bevveeee!
Aunt Bev was a PRO at getting Jon to sleep. This picture really isn't fair; this was the ONLY time Aunt Bev sat down all week...just long enough to get a picture.

Flowers From Nana
Nana brought flowers for Mama and I had so much fun sniffing them! Nana came over on Wednesday and Thursday to help; thanks Nana!

Jennifer And Courtney
My friend, Courtney, and her Mom, Jennifer, helped out when Mama was in the hospital on Monday and Tuesday. Here's a pic of Courtney enjoying the GoKart. (Aunt Bev Pic)

Ricki & Doni
And on Tuesday afternoon, Ricki and Doni came over to play with me and Jon. They just got back from a trip to Hawaii and I had to help Doni with her homework. That thing with the buttons was fun to play with; I can't wait until I go to school!

Jon Attacked By Little Animals
Mama has way too much fun.

Hi Lily!
I'm sure glad that you got to update the blog. I am so glad that Auntie Beveee was there to help your Mama while she was recuperating. I bet that she was lots of fun to play with. The pictures are all adorable of you and Mama and Auntie Bevee and little Jon. What a nice picture of you giving him a kiss. Mama had way to much time on her hands when she decorated Jon with little toys. Please give Mama a big kiss from me, I miss you all lots.
Love always,
Muma

Hi Jennifa!
You are just too good. I just checked and both of the kids pages have been updated too! Wow! I'm impressed! Take care of yourself and good luck with the kids this week. I know that Ray helps all he can, but try not to lift Lily more than necessary. Yeah, right. Well, do your best to be good to you. Love You!

Hi All,
It was so much fun to be there to help with the kids. They are both just toooooo cute, and I miss them already. The part that Jen left out was how well she did after her surgery. She was sitting on the floor the day after she came home playing with all of us. I was amazed at how quickly she was able to move around so well. And poor Ray was really sick too, and he still had to take the night shift most of the time. Ray's mom and all their friends were a big help too, with everyone pitching in, the week just flew by. Actually it was too fast. Miss you all!

A Tale Of 911
The big North Star V8 (READ: Caddy) is roaring down the highway, I glance at the speedodometer and think I should probably slow down as it might be hard to explain my way out of this one and then the phone rings…

But let me back up and tell you what happened in the 20 minutes before this. Jen calls me at work and says she is having back pains and trouble breathing, hmmm this doesn’t sound good. After talking for a few minutes we decide that I will head home. I cancel some meetings and then head to my car; once I am on the road I call Jen back to see how she is doing. “I’m not doing good”, she says. The pain is worse and she is still having problems breathing, thinking to myself that I am not going to be able to do anything once I get there I tell her to call 911.

…I answer the phone and it is Officer Smith (well not really Smith but I can’t remember his name). I am thinking is this a new way to catch speeders, to call them on their cell phones and how did he get my number anyway. Officer Smith says that Jen is doing OK, she is still in a lot of pain but they have her loaded up and are waiting for me. Then he tells me to be careful and to not speed or anything, oops.

So I pull in to the driveway, I pass an ambulance leaving as I pull in, and an EMT greets me at my door to give me the scoop. So we head inside and there are 5 EMTs and Officer Smith feeding Lily lunch and trying to keep Jon from crying. What a sight, I wish would have thought to take a picture before they left, oh well. So the EMTs get me settled in and then as quickly as it all began, they were all gone and I was feeding Lily mac and cheese.

[Mama’s Entry (within Daddy’s entry)]
Okay, so I was rushed to the ER only to find out that I had gallstones (5 to be exact). One was implanted in the neck of my gallbladder. Bad stone. The ER doctor said that I needed to have surgery to have my gallbladder removed. He said it should be done as soon as possible; Wednesday was the earliest they could do it. He lied. They couldn’t even see me until FRIDAY! So, I went to my own Doctor and they could at least see me on Wednesday and do the surgery the following Monday. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I could eat during that time but I had to go a whole week without eating anything that had fat in it or risk going to the ER again. I lived on Saltines and Honeycombs for a week. By Sunday night I was a wreck and miserable. Ray might say it was by Tuesday night, but I give myself some credit! So, it was a long week, but we all got through it. Aunt Bev flew up on Saturday to watch the kids while I went in to surgery on Monday – more on that next week.

Mama’s Little Angel
I am not sure what scares me more, the devilish look in his eyes or the appearance of horns from that hat.

We Are Really The Cone Heads In Disguise
This is one of Lily’s favorite activities; cramming all of her little fabric squares into whatever container she can find.

You Can Never Start Them Too Young
We taught Lily how to do dishes this week, she does quite a good job at it and has hardly broken a thing.

A New Year
This is just a short entry because it's only for the first two days of the year. We rang in the new year wtih a bang. I went to bed at 8:15 PM; I know, I'm just not the life of the party anymore! I did hear that Ray and Jon managed to watch the ball drop, though. Thanks Ray for all the nighttime feedings!
On New Years Day Nana came over and we all had a nice lunch that included black-eyed peas. Muma and I did manage to try them at least; for those of you who don't know, it's a tradition for some to eat black-eyed peas on the first of the year for good luck...this is not a tradition that Muma or I am fond of. But, we ate them anyway in good spirits! On to other exciting news.

Jonathan Rolls Over - Twice!
Yup, the little man rolled over for the first time on January 1; he was 17 days old. I thought it was just a crazy super newborn fluke but then he did it again the day after! I think I'm in BIG trouble with this one!

Lily Enjoys Dinner At Her Big Girl Table

Such A Big Girl
This cute sweater is from Uncle Dan. Lily was all excited to wear it; and she looks so grown up! Uncle Dan also sent up a Florida Gators outfit for Jon but he won't be able to debut that until spring when he gains a few more pounds. Thanks Uncle Dan! (Not that he reads the blog.)

HI Jennifa and family!
I had a wonderful visit--thank you so much. Lily is getting to be a lot of fun and Jonathan is absolutely beautiful. Wouldn't it be great to actually see a note on here from Dan???? Well, I've got to go and drop a line in the other part of this blog. Help--I don't know how many I'm supposed to check out!
Love you all

Never mind, I just figured it out. The other was the close of 2004 and this is the start of 2005--okay, let's hope the kids don't get their brains from their Muma! Love you all.
I couldn't get to the two cents in 2004--it woudn't open, so here's my two cents for that one.
There wasn't any snow while I was visiting (and I really didn't miss it), but it was windy and very cool at night. I had a great time playing with Lily and feeding Little Jon and visiting with Jen and Ray. Thank you for everything.
Love always,
Muma

Muma - You are too funny! Thanks for posting - double entries and all! We had a great time with you and we look forward to when we can all go down there! We won't mind if the kids get some of your brains, just not your technical skills! :-)

Hi All,
Looks like your mom had fun!!! Lily's hair is getting so long! And Jon looks sooooo cute, can't wait to see him. I think your mom bought the flying saucer so that if it snows when I am there I can sneak out and use it!?!? Well see you all soon, can't wait!
